Reality didn't make good poems....

LIFE

All of the love poems in all of the world are written about that initial infatuation, or first lust. The shiny novelty of a Person, the wonders of that euphoric feeling of "love." there aren't many written about car payments, diaper changes or that long drawn-out bit in the middle, between the perfect wedding and the obituary explaining they were so much in love. Nothing about that six year period where they couldn't stand each other. Or the vacation deferred. Or the long wind toward death. There are no love poems about changing adult diapers and taking pills.
